International Women's Day Celebration:
The Life of Crystal Lee Sutton
Location: AFT New Mexico, 530 Jefferson NE Saturday, March 6th, 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
The life of Crystal Lee Sutton, the real Norma Rae, will be celebrated. Ms Sutton was instrumental in organizing textile workers in the South. She died last September because her health insurance company denied her care. Come and help us give tribute to the life and work of Crystal Lee Sutton.
After a brief presentation about the struggles Crystal Lee faced while organizing her union, we will view "Norma Rae" with a renewed appreciation for Crystal Lee and her fellow union workers.
Silent Auction There will be a silent auction earlier so come in early to make a bid. Refreshments will be served.
