Only voters registered as Republicans or Democrats can vote in the June 3rd Primary Election. New Mexico has a closed primary - you can only vote for candidates of the Party you are registered under.

You can register to vote by going to your County Clerk's office and filling out a voter registration form, or via a third party registrar, or by sending in a Voter Registration form so that it arrives at the County Clerk's office before the May 6th, 5:00pm deadline. You can request an absentee ballot by mail or by going to the County Clerk's office in person. The marked ballot is due in the Clerk's office OR at the voter's normal polling place no later than 7:00pm on Election Day, June 3rd. Ballots may be mailed or returned by the voter, the voter's caregiver, or a member of the voter's immediate family. For more information, click here.
At any time prior to 5:00 p.m. on the June 2, 2008, any person whose absentee ballot application has been accepted and who was mailed an absentee ballot, but who has not received the absentee ballot, may execute, in the office of the County Clerk of the county where registered, a sworn affidavit stating that the voter did not receive or vote an absentee ballot. Upon receipt of the sworn affidavit, the County Clerk shall issue the voter a replacement absentee ballot.
Tuesday, June 3rd, the polls will be open from 7:00am to 7:00pm. Both Democrats and Republicans will vote on this day. As long as you are in line by 7:00pm, you must be allowed to vote. For information about polling places, voter rights, etc. click here.
All absentee ballots are due either at the County Clerk's office or at the voter's normal polling place by 7:00pm on Election Day. You cannot drop off your absentee ballot at just any polling place! If you do, it will be categorized as a "Provisional Ballot", not an "Absentee Ballot".

If you will not be able to vote in person, you can request an absentee ballot from your County Clerk's office. Requests must be in no later than May 29th, 5:00pm. You must return your ballot so that it's in the County Clerk's office no later than 7:00pm on Election Day, June 3rdt.
